The objective evaluation of the hotel is that the facilities are old, and it is suggested to redecorate them. The location is very good and the transportation is convenient; In particular, there is a braided boy at the front desk. He is impolite, especially to the elderly. It is suggested to conduct staff literacy training!

The location is very good, close to many interesting places, an open market just 1 minute walking distance, the only negative point is the furniture, etc.. needs some updating, other than that its good value for money.

The room is too old. The mattress is uneven, the TV is still an old-fashioned picture tube, and it's very small. The advantage is that WiFi is faster.

The hotel's furnishings are a little old. The hygiene is good and quiet. The router used in the room can hardly connect to the Internet. Fortunately, you can also use the WiFi signal of other rooms. Breakfast is average

The highlight is that the room is really big. The disadvantage is that the facilities are old, the room has a strange smell and the sound of water is very loud. Breakfast is very ordinary. Children even want 50 yuan. Generally speaking, the feeling of check-in is average.

The transportation is very convenient and the location is very good. Take line 10 directly from Hongqiao. It's not far from Shikumen and a large meeting site. You can take a walk when you have time. It's just that the accessories are in a mess. The hotel facilities are a little old, but the hygiene and service are pretty good. The price is also reasonable and worth recommending.

The hotel is conveniently located between the two subway stations, but not far from the subway station. The sanitation is OK, but there are stubborn stains in the toilet. There are few sockets in the room. The lamps are desk lamps and floor lamps, which are dark. There was only one socket at the head of the bed to plug in the desk lamp, so I had to unplug it to plug in my mobile phone.

Travelogue
  • Experience a relaxing and fulfilling accommodation in the core area of Huangpu

When I came to Xintiandi and People's Square to visit Shanghai in depth, I set my destination for four nights at Magnificent International Hotel(Xintiandi People's Square) Shanghai. I originally wanted to find a convenient place to stay. After staying, I found that in the core area of Huangpu, where there is a lot of land and money, this hotel has achieved the goal of "living comfortably" far beyond expectations.
The sense of propriety when checking in was particularly comfortable. The front desk did not have overly enthusiastic greetings. They helped me turn on the air conditioning in advance to prevent me from feeling stuffy when I came in from the hot summer. They even handed me a glass of cold sour plum soup and gave me a handwritten guide to the surrounding area, indicating the old local noodle shop that still opened late at night. As soon as I pushed open the door, I was relieved of the exhaustion of rushing. The whole house was designed with a simple and warm home style, without the rigid and cold feeling of ordinary hotels. The warm lighting was spread on the light wood furniture. After wandering for a few hours in the Shikumen alley, I immediately relaxed.
The most surprising thing is the sleeping experience. The customized high rebound mattress is moderately soft and hard, paired with 80 high count cotton skin friendly bedding. After wandering for several days until late at night and returning to the hotel, lying on the bed, the soreness of walking more than 20000 steps dissipated in no time. The double-layer soundproof glass of the whole house is made very solidly. After closing the window, the sound of traffic on Lujiabang Road is almost completely isolated. Only the faint music of Xintiandi in the distance floats in. I have slept very soundly for four nights, without the insomnia problem of changing beds on business trips. Both sides of the bed are equipped with USB-A and USB-C dual interface charging panels, which are sufficient for charging mobile phones, headphones, and cameras at the same time, without having to search for charging heads and pull long cables everywhere.
The spacious desk by the window has been my little paradise these days. The 1.2-meter countertop is spacious enough to hold laptops, cameras, and old Shanghai picture books that I just picked up from Shanghai Bookstore. The edges of the desk are rounded and chamfered, so when I stay up late organizing photos, my arms rest on it without getting hurt or sore. The small sofa next to the desk was soft, and after wandering around, I snuggled up inside, sipping a cup of the local Longjing provided by the hotel for free, flipping through a few pages of idle books, and even the restlessness of the journey slowly subsided. The ice water prepared in advance in the small refrigerator by the window, after wandering the street and sweating profusely, instantly dissipated the heat of Shanghai's summer.
The configuration of the bathroom area is also particularly thoughtful, with a temperature controlled smart toilet seat that is warm to sit on. Even on a slightly cool morning in Shanghai, you don't have to bite your teeth and touch the cold seat cushion. The dual mode showerhead with top spray and handheld has dense and stable water output. After taking a hot shower all day, even the tightness in the calves was completely relieved. The bathroom area has undergone a complete separation of dry and wet areas, so there will be no water accumulation on the floor after taking a shower. It is particularly reassuring to step on the non slip floor tiles. The surround soft light design in front of the mirror ensures that there are no unsightly shadows when applying makeup, and even someone as clumsy as me can easily achieve a natural makeup look.
During the four nights we stayed, the room service was just right: we didn't knock on the door casually to disturb us. When we went out to visit attractions, the staff would quietly tidy up the room, neatly organizing the photos and postcards I had casually placed at the table. They would also quietly put two bottles of chilled mineral water on the small bar counter. One day I casually mentioned to my cleaning aunt that I had a slight fever recently. When I returned to my room at night, a pot of stewed daisy tea had been placed beside the table, and a handwritten note was placed beside it, reminding me that the wind in Xintiandi was strong at night, so I should remember to add a coat when going out for a walk.
After staying for four nights, there was no flashy internet celebrity design. Magnificent International Hotel(Xintiandi People's Square) Shanghai perfectly concealed the core "comfort" of Huangpu's stay in every detail. Next time I come to Shanghai for a deep exploration of the old city area, I will definitely make it my first stop without hesitation.

  • The most convenient Shanghai sojourn in Xintiandi People's Square

This time, I visited the old alleys of Xintiandi in depth, and checked out the old buildings around the People's Square. I decided to stay at Magnificent International Hotel(Xintiandi People's Square) Shanghai for three nights. After staying, I found that it was totally unexpected to find such a hotel in Huangpu District, the core of Shanghai, which balanced the location convenience and living comfort.
The hotel is located at 1089 Lujiabang Road in Huangpu District, and the most reassuring thing for me is its geographical location: a 600 meter walk is the Lujiabang Road subway station for Line 9 and Line 8. From Shanghai Railway Station, taking Line 1 and then transferring to Line 8 can take the entire 25 minute journey directly, without having to take a detour in the old alleys of Huangpu with your luggage. From Hongqiao High speed Railway Station, take Line 10 and transfer to Line 8. The whole journey takes 40 minutes, without being stuck in the morning and evening rush hour on the inner ring expressway. Walk 15 minutes north out of the hotel door, and you can directly enter the Shikumen alley group in Xintiandi. Walk 20 minutes northeast to the People's Square. The Yu Garden, Nanjing Road Walkway and other core points in Shanghai can be connected slowly by walking, without repeatedly crowding the subway bypass.
When checking in, the front desk staff was very considerate and learned that I was specifically here to visit the old Shanghai Shikumen. They specially arranged a quiet room type in the high area that was not close to the road for me, so that I wouldn't be disturbed by traffic when I stayed up late to organize photos. They even gave me a hand drawn map of the surrounding area and marked several local restaurants hidden in the old alleyway. They even pointed out which Shikumen alley was less crowded and easier to take red bricks on. Pushing open the door, the whole house is in a simple and elegant modern style, without any unnecessary fancy decorations. The warm toned lights are spread on the light wood colored furniture. After strolling for a few hours in the alley and enjoying the evening breeze, the exhaustion is instantly relieved when the door is pushed open.
The details of the room are particularly tailored to the needs of living, with a spacious desk by the window and a reasonable layout. Multiple charging ports and USB panels are placed in easily accessible positions. I stayed up late for several nights to organize the old building photos taken at the Shikumen, and the desktop space is enough to hold a laptop, camera, and the old Shanghai brochure I just picked up from the Shanghai Book City, without feeling cramped at all. A high rebound mattress with moderate softness and hardness. After walking more than 20000 steps in a day and lying down on the bed, the soreness and swelling in my calves dissipated in no time. The double-layer soundproof glass in the whole house is particularly solid. After closing the windows, the sound of traffic on Lujiabang Road is almost completely isolated. I slept soundly for three consecutive nights without the trouble of changing beds and insomnia.
The most surprising thing is the surrounding pyrotechnic gas. Within 10 minutes of walking, you can find the old Shanghai fried chicken restaurant, the time-honored brand of Benbang noodles, and the 24-hour chain convenience store. After visiting Xintiandi at night, you can buy hot Cong you bing and hot soybean milk. It's only a 10 minute walk from Tianzifang. If you want to browse art shops or check in old Shanghai cultural and creative industries, just take a leisurely stroll and you'll be there. In the past few days, I have been walking north along Lujiabang Road every morning. Along the way, I can see a series of old Shanghai residences, and even the rush has become a part of my travels.
Staying for three nights without the premium of internet famous hotels, Magnificent International Hotel(Xintiandi People's Square) Shanghai has successfully met all the small needs of visiting the old city area of Shanghai. Next time I come to Xintiandi and People's Square, I will definitely take them as the first foothold without hesitation.
